ID Fans for Coal-fired Boilers by Xianrun Blower

ID Fans for Coal-fired Boilers by Xianrun Blower

ID fan (Induced draft fan) is an important equipment in coal-fired boilers and flue-gas system, adjusting induced airflow by controlling inlet guide vane of induced draft fan, to maintain the boiler furnace negative pressure stability and ensure the boiler safe operation.

When the boiler loads change, the boilers induced airflow and forced airflow will also change, then the ID fan adjusts the changes by controlling the inlet guide vane angle. In general, changing the inlet guide vane to adjust airflow is more energy-saving than changing ID fan damper.

But the throttling loss is still large for the both, especially in low load condition. Secondly, the action of adjusting inlet guide vane is slow, slow response speed with the desulfurization booster fan system in the variable load adjustment process, so it easy to cause the system oscillation, load hysteresis, etc.

In addition, at the start, the starting current of asynchronous motor can reach to 4 ~ 7 times of rated current, influencing power grid stability. And at the same time, the powerful impact torque has adverse effects on the industrial fans and motor service life.
